The Middachten Estate has a history spanning more than 800 years, yet this rich past has never been fully researched or published. In 2024, the board of the castle’s foundation together with the owners took the initiative to change this.
An academic editorial team has been appointed to lead the project, working together with a group of scholars. They will research and write the history of the castle, its gardens, and its inhabitants.
The publication is scheduled for release in 2027.
