Open lecture with Hélène Bremer
Like all artists are standing on the shoulders of their predecessors, all historic houses are formed by generations of occupants. These occupants shaped and changed the look of the house over the centuries. Bringing contemporary artists in a historic house is a way for a curator to tell the story of continuity. Curating that engages with the past and links it with the present can give a place a new lease of life.
