Thanks to the generous support of the Mondriaan Fund I worked for a year as project curator for Middachten Castle on several projects to bring the story of 800 years of history of this remarkable place (castle, gardens and estate) to a wider public.
2022 was dedicated to remember the heiress of Middachten Castle, Ursula Philippota van Raesfelt (1643-1721) with an exhibition and a temporary redecoration of some of the rooms in the castle. Together with initiating the publication and subsequently editing her biography written by Hermine Manschot-Tijdink took up most of the tenure of the assignment as project curator. The public presentation of the book to owner Graf Franz zu Ortenburg and the organisation of a series of lectures related to the heiress were a crown of my work.
